A Year of Motherhood
The Good, The Hard, & The Beautiful of Motherhood, products I'm loving, and more!

One Year Postpartum
What a rollercoaster that’s been. I’m 15 months in now and honestly can’t even remember life without Monty in it, he’s just part of everything we do.
I’ve said this since month one and I still feel the same: motherhood actually got harder with every month that passed. Long gone are the days when he would just eat and sleep 😂 Toddler life is CRAZY. Nonstop but also sooo much fun (I did a full rundown on this in my last newsletter).
It’s been such a year of self-discovery. Not so much relearning who I am, but more learning who I am now as a mother, which I’ve actually really enjoyed. Everything from what I want and need from friendships these days to the clothes I like to wear has shifted. I wouldn’t say I’ve changed loads on the outside, but internally there’s definitely been a change.
One of the biggest things I’ve realized is just HOW much free time I had before becoming a mum. It actually makes me laugh thinking back to when I used to feel “busy”… or stressed about a messy house.
I honestly feel like the first year of motherhood is split into two halves: the first six months and the second six months. For me, the first six months were baby bliss, slow days, lots of cuddles, cosy time at home. Then the second six months were my oh sh*t phase. Everything ramped up, routines changed, and the reality of parenting really hit.
But overall, it’s been the best time of my life. I’m so grateful for every part of it, even the hard bits, and I genuinely can’t wait to hopefully go through it all again one day 🤍
Here’s what I’m loving one year into motherhood
Reins for Monty – an absolute must at this stage. He wants to be on the move constantly and runs everywhere 😂 These let him explore while giving me peace of mind knowing he’s safe.
Bathtime slide set – such a hit with Monty right now. He’s obsessed and uses it every single bath, makes bath time way more fun.
Ninja air fryer – honestly life-changing. It’s made meals SO much easier with mum life, and there are endless recipes you can use it for. Truly a game changer.
Collagen – a non-negotiable for me. It’s really helped keep my hair and skin feeling healthy after pregnancy and postpartum.
Caudalie face tan drops – these make me feel instantly more put together. Such an easy way to add a bit of glow when you’re running on mum energy.
Non-slip bath mat – amazing now that Monty doesn’t use a bath seat anymore. Helps stop slipping and keeps him safe during bath time.
Sculpted by Aimee hydrating serum – so good for mum life (and just skincare in general). It hydrates beautifully and gives the nicest glow, perfect for skin prep.
Caudalie Vinoperfect dark spot serum – hands down one of the best for pigmentation and evening out skin tone, especially post pregnancy/postpartum.
What I’m browsing at Abercrombie right now
Their lightweight cardigans are perfect with spring coming up, and I love the sleeveless wool sweater tops as an easy transition piece from winter to spring. I’ve also been eyeing their satin pull-on trousers. Such a good lightweight option to have in your wardrobe as the seasons start to change.
