Why Autumn Is My Favorite Season

Autumn has always been my absolute favorite time of year. It feels like prime time to romanticize life and get cosy. I love that shift in weather after a busy summer of being here, there and everywhere — autumn is the time to slow down, stay home and just enjoy it.

The fashion is one of my favorite parts! All the brown tones, layering, and getting wrapped up for long walks. I like to think I’m good at romanticizing life, but I’m very good at it this time of year 😂. There’s something about dark nights, a cosy bath, candles lit, and curling up with a good book and a glass of wine that just feels perfect.

I always thought I’d want a summer baby, but now that I have a November baby, it makes total sense — just another reason to love this season even more. I also adore the home decor. I don’t really decorate for spring or summer other than a few candles, but come autumn and winter, I’m all about the pumpkins, warm tones and Christmas touches. And now that I’m a mum, I can really lean into it all and make the house feel as magical and cosy as my mum did for us growing up.

Autumn also feels like a little reminder that the year’s coming to an end. That final push to refocus before December hits and everything slows down again. It’s the time of year I know I’ll soon have all my siblings under one roof for Christmas (which only happens once a year now since we all live in different countries), so the excitement really starts to build once October rolls around.

It’s also a bit nostalgic this year, because this time last year I was going to bed every night thinking “Is tonight the night Monty will come?” Halloween was my due date, and as if I didn’t love Halloween enough already, it’ll always be such a special day to me now — remembering how excited I was to meet him (even though he kept me waiting eight more days 😂).

And to top it all off, it’s our anniversary in early November — nine years this year! So between Monty’s birthday, our anniversary, and all the autumn cosiness, this season just feels extra special to me.

My recent autumn fashion favroties are giving all the cosy chic vibes. This brown coat from Lounge is such a dream — the perfect chocolate brown shade that’s trending this season, and it goes with pretty much any outfit. I’ve also been loving this denim long-sleeve top; it’s so cute for autumn and adds a bit of structure to cosy looks. My chocolate brown jumper has been on repeat too — it’s super comfy and keeps me warm without feeling bulky. And I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m obsessed with my new chocolate brown Uggs! I’ve never been a huge Ugg fan, but these little booties are just so cute for autumn.
